How sign-in, workspaces, data and answers work in chat.newdais.ai.

Signing in

Each workspace has its own address, chat.newdais.ai/<workspace>. Open it and choose Microsoft or Google. You can only sign in to a workspace you have been invited to; if you see "invite-only", ask one of the workspace's admins for an invitation.

If your organisation uses Microsoft 365 and sign-in says an administrator must approve the app, see approving chat.newdais.ai for your organisation.

Adding data

  • Upload a file: drop a CSV or Excel workbook anywhere on the new-chat page. The app checks it and shows what it found before anyone can ask about it.
  • Connect a source: admins can connect a data warehouse or a Power BI model from the Data page.
  • Who sees what: admins grant each data source to people or groups. A question only uses the sources you can see.

Asking good questions

  • Name the measure and how to slice it: "revenue by region last quarter" works better than "how are we doing?".
  • Say the period. Without one, the app uses all the data and says so.
  • Follow up in the same conversation: "now only for the Metro region".

Checking an answer

The chips above each chart show the filters that were applied, and the text under it names the source. Switch to Table to see the exact numbers. If your workspace allows it, admins can also open the query. Use the thumbs to tell us when an answer is wrong; it goes to your workspace admins.

Sharing

Share copies the answer's text and a link. The link only opens for people in your workspace who can see the same data; everyone else sees a not-found page.
